"Heartbreaker" is the second single from rap singer will.i.am's third album Songs About Girls. The British single version features guest vocals from Cheryl Cole; this version was also featured on Cole's debut solo album 3 Words which was released in October 2009.


Cheryl Cole's vocals and appearance in the music video came as a result of the ITV2 television show Passions of Girls Aloud. In the show, Cole learned the art of street dancing, and would ultimately audition for the will.i.am music video. She received the part and would also contribute guest vocals to the song, singing part of the chorus and a break down. will.i.am said the record company suggested Cole, and after meeting her, he felt the idea was perfect. Unlike most young people who gravitate towards the latest rock or rap trend, Michael Bublé chose to study the classic works of pop vocal masters like Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra while slowly developing his own technique and career of interpreter of song. Thank you for the producer David Foster, 25-year-old Bublé has graduated to the big time with a self-titled debut disc that shows his knowledge and appreciation for a style of music is most often unknown to its generation. Swinging his way through a set of pop standards both classic ( "The Way You Look Tonight") and more recent ( "Moondance"), Bublé already possesses a quality that goes beyond his youth a voice which incorporates his influences into a sound that is both new and familiar. When he launches into a standard like "Come Fly With Me," images of Sinatra is mentioned, but as the song progresses, the listener realizes that this is not Sinatra or Bobby Darin, or any other famous singer. Someone who has learned the art of popular song and created his own colorful music from shades of the past. In doing so, Bublé launches a new coat of paint on an old standard like "Fever" and gives it a satiny sheen that the song was not seen in years. In addition to revitalizing the classics, he draws a younger audience by covering more recent years, rock, songs of the time in a swinging gloss. Songs like George Michael's "Kissing a Fool" or Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" are jazzed up even further than their retro-based originals, and flow easily alongside the standards. The only interruption comes when Barry Gibb vibrato customers on its own "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart", laced with reverb that do not just in this musical environment. Throughout the disc, it is obvious that Buble has ACED homework and testing, but there is always room for improvement. Sinatra haunts his vocals a bit too much on songs like "Summer Wind", and there are moments throughout the disc when he forces his technique instead of follow a natural rhythm, but these minor criticisms will improve with time, and nothing can truly reduce the pure pleasure and joy he expresses in each performance.
